ITALIAN BOOKS | DELIQUIUM 2018

DELIQUIUM

SOUND ART TRIENNIAL
8th, 9th, 10th February 2018 – Electrowerkz, London

ITALIAN BOOKS

(UK) ➣ Power Electronics / Harsh Noise
Italian Books began as an electronic solo Harsh Noise project, a disposable show opener for a local D.I.Y. Punk gig in rural Suffolk. The experimental improvised chaos was well received, and the seeds were sewn for the more uniformed approach that followed. To date, the act has performed in a number of locations, such as music venues and small art spaces. A debut C20 cassette ‘Liquid’ was released in July 2017. Italian Books are currently performing work in progress with a new collection of tracks to be released early 2018.
Using cassette samples, synthesisers, feedback loops, and angry distorted vocals, Italian Books explores the topics of confirmation bias and the idea of progress in a seemingly ever changing world.
These are artists who want to push you as a listener, viewer, toucher, taster. They feel the competing powers that define human and inhuman experience and press this open the audience. This is work that requires the presence of the artist and the engagement – sometimes submission – of the public. Your senses will thank you for the embrace that is DELIQUIUM.
