SOUND ART TRIENNIAL

(LT) ➣ Noise Ritual
Noise Ladder is an art project created by Vilnius-based Nicolas Lafay in 2015. It explores the field of noise music through live performances and cassette recordings. In his shows, Nicolas deals with what is shown and what is hidden within a harsh noise sound environment. He explores the relation between the body and technology and tries to reveal the sensuality of raw electronic sounds. The artist’s name invokes Jacob’s ladder, the famous moog filter technology as well as the work of chimney sweeps. Over the last decade, Lafay has been involved in many music projects ranging from experimental music to breakcore/hardcore. In 2012 he began to develop his own electronic instruments and he is currently performing using a self-built modular synthesizer. In 2016 a cassette release, ILYA was issued by the label Electron Emitter.
These are artists who want to push you as a listener, viewer, toucher, taster. They feel the competing powers that define human and inhuman experience and press this open the audience. This is work that requires the presence of the artist and the engagement – sometimes submission – of the public. Your senses will thank you for the embrace that is DELIQUIUM.
