<h4 style="text-align: center;">PASCAL SAVY</h4>
<h5 style="text-align: center;">(UK) ➣ Ambient Noise / Ritual</h5>
<div>
<div>Pascal Savy is a sound artist living and working in London.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Through the use of tones, textures and noise he explores atmospheres rather than narratives as a way to reflect on presence, time and the ephemerality of phenomenon. He has released work on labels such as Audiobulb, Hibernate and Touch Radio and was recently an artist in residence at Iklectik Art Lab where he curated a 2-day series of events presenting film, visuals and music on the theme of emergence.</div>
<div></div>
<div>At Deliquium, Savy will present The Weird and the Eerie &#8211; a sound performance exploring the boundaries between the &#8216;weird&#8217; and the &#8216;eerie&#8217;. The title is directly inspired by an essay of the same title by writer and cultural theorist Mark Fisher.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The performance will use some of the works and ideas discussed by Fisher as points of inspiration for sourcing samples and field recordings, exploring textures and creating narratives. This research will be the basis of the largely improvised performance that will follow a path between the weird and the eerie. It is motivated by the desire to communicate to the audience my fascination for sound and its intrinsic capacity to be immensely pleasurable, distressing or even terrifying depending on the context and situation. The work aims to evoke in the audience the idea that sound remains after all both weird and eerie.</div>
